5 Healthy Summer Drinks

These healthy summer drinks are perfect for the warm, sunny days right around the corner. Instead of spending money on sugar filled beverages, make your own at home with simple, healthy ingredients.

1. Strawberry Limeade

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup water
  • juice from 1/2 of a lime

Instructions:

  • Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth

2. Virgin Pina Colada

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut water

Instructions:

  • Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

3. Mango Black Tea

Ingredients:

  • Unsweetened black tea (or green tea)
  • 1 tablespoon mango syrup
  • Ice

Instructions:

  • Combine tea and mango syrup in a cup and mix well. Add ice to the cup.

4. Cucumber Lime Water with Chia

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 peeled cucumber
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar/Splenda
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

Instructions:

  • Peel cucumber and cut into rounds
  • Combine cucumber rounds, water, lime juice, and sugar into a blender. Blend until liquified
  • Add chia seeds to the mixture, and stir together with a spoon

5. Jamaica Water

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons dried hibiscus leaves
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar/Splenda

Instructions:

  • Combine 1 cup of water and hibiscus leaves in a small pot and bring to a boil
  • Allow hibiscus mixture to cool
  • Once cool, strain the mixture and pour into a cup
  • Pour remaining cup of water to dilute the mixture (if the taste is too strong, add more water to dilute)
  • Add sugar to the mixture and mix well
  • Add ice (optional) and enjoy
